With WandaVision set to premiere January 15, 2021, interest soars for the doomed lovers’ continued adventures, and in that, incredible fan art is emerging in its anticipation. Instagram user SPDRMNKYXXIII posted an amazing digitally rendered piece featuring Scarlet Witch morphing into Vision. One side shows a glowing red eye, indicative of Wanda’s scarlet hued power signature. Vision’s cybernetics partially surround her face, and her forehead sports Vision’s Mind Stone. WandaVision also stars a returning Randall Park Park (Ant-Man and the Wasp) and Kat Dennings (Thor: The Dark World) and newly features Teyonah Parris (Dear White People) as the grown-up version of Monica Rambeau, first introduced as a child in 2019’s Captain Marvel. It marks the debut of Marvel television series produced by Marvel Studios, the division that runs the MCU films, headed by Kevin Feige. Prior small screen vehicles, including Daredevil and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., were done by Marvel Television, a separately run division, contributing, in part, to the lack of cohesion between film and television properties. With the television programs now all under the same unified Studios umbrella, WandaVision will tie directly into the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, due in theaters in 2022.
With Vision still canonically deceased as of the last Avengers film, the mystery remains on how Vision will return in WandaVision. There’s been speculation that much of the limited series will exist in Wanda’s mind, playing out different versions of what their life together could have been like. And due to the unpredictable nature of her reality warping powers and the unique nature of Vision’s physiology, a full restoration for Vision isn’t out of the question either. In the comics, the Scarlet Witch has pulled off some monumental feats with her abilities like creating twin children for herself and orchestrating “M-Day,” where she stripped nearly all the mutants in the Marvel universe of their powers. Now, with Marvel’s multiverses opening the doors for realities where Wanda and Vision’s story potentially doesn’t end in heartbreak, an actual and happy reunion may still be in their future.
